Sister Mary Alice Spohn celebrated her Golden Jubilee at the Convent of Our Lady of Mercy in Auburn with family and friends.
This occasion has caused her to reflect on her Silver Jubilee celebration and her month long travels abroad that took her to Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales for the first two weeks. She then continued to Belgium, Germany, Poland, Russia, Denmark, Finland and Sweden for another two weeks. “I was very excited about my jubilee, I can hardly believe 25 and now 50 years have gone by,” she said. A native of Orange, Calif., Alice spent many years in hospital ministry as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Later she trained as a chaplain and was engaged in pastoral care in Redding, Sacramento, and Carmichael.
